Dennis W. Farrell President & CEO

Farrell_6Dennis Farrell brings almost four decades of law enforcement experience to his role as President and CEO of Federal Shield Consulting. He previously served as commanding officer of the elite Homicide Squad of the Nassau County Police Department.

During his tenure, the squad compiled the highest solved rate of any major metropolitan police force in the country, and successfully investigated a number of high-profile cases that generated national media interest.

Previously, Dennis commanded the Cold Case Squad and Special Victims Unit (Sex Crimes). It was in the latter that he distinguished himself by authoring law enforcement administrative procedures for Megan's Law. These procedures were later adopted by law enforcement agencies throughout New York State and beyond.

Dennis is a graduate of the presitigious F.B.I. National Academy, where his classmates from the international law enforcement community elected him Session Representative (Class President). A former member of the Hostage Negotiation team, Dennis Farrell is a veteran of countless successfully-resolved crisis situations. He is a well-respected executive and innovator whose counsel is often sought by leaders of business and government.

Dennis recently served as Chairman of NYS Senator Michael Balboni's Homeland Security Advisory Committee. He has also frequently been interviewed by local, national and cable news programs regarding the many successful investigations he has directed.


Brian E. McCabe Vice President - Director of Operations

Brian recently concluded his career with the New York Police Department where he was intimately involved in high profile assignments and investigations. In addition to his former command of the elite Manhattan South Homicide Squad, the team responsible for the investigation of major cases in the heart of New York City, Brian was also involved with Counter-Terror operations, particularly those involving nuclear, biological, or chemical agents. Brian has also earned an exemplary reputation for his assignments involving dignitary and personal protection.

As Vice-President of Federal Shield, Brian has extensive relationships within the private, legal, corporate, labor and public arenas. Based in New York City, Brian is also tasked with regional , national and international operations and consulting. Brian is available to members of the media regarding matters in the security and investigative industry, as well as issues relating to his law enforcement career, policing issues and analysis of the implications of current events.

In addition to his extensive law enforcement background, Brian has consulted on numerous creative, private, and governmental projects. He has also lectured on the collegiate level in professional and sociological classes.
